Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water Contract Award

Draintech Surveys Limited has just secured a six year contract with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water to provide CCTV surveys of drainage networks across the whole of Wales. After an intensive and lengthy tender process Draintech secured the position as one of the three contractors chosen to provide CCTV surveys of sewers and pipes across North, West, East and South Wales. This has proved a great achievement for the Company, providing them with the opportunity to increase their awareness across the whole of Wales by expanding not only the organisation’s offices, but also doubling both workforce and equipment.

In preparation for the contract start, Draintech has put a number of new procedures in place to ensure the effective and efficient running of the workload. The Company has recently employed a number of Water Research Centre [WRc] qualified office based personnel to help sustain the heavy workflow that will materialise as a result of the good news. In addition, Draintech has doubled their onsite crews - the Company now has teams working throughout Wales which includes not only the surveying of sewers, but providing cleaning of drainage networks as well as GPS services.

This contract award success has given Draintech Surveys Limited the recognition deserved for their outstanding performance as not only a tier one supplier for drainage surveying for DCWW, but also during previous awarded contracts such as the Private Sewer Transfer Data Collection and the Survey of Potential Pollution hot spots. These opportunities provided Draintech with the chance to create firm contacts with Welsh Water representatives, helping to affirm a long-withstanding relationship between the Utility Company and Draintech which is certain to continue long into the future.

In addition, Draintech Surveys Limited has also continued to secure its place as a tier one framework contractor for both Severn Trent Water and Wessex Water, increasing the presence of Draintech personnel and equipment throughout both the Midlands and South-East England, affirming the company’s position as one of the leading CCTV Drainage Surveying Companies in the UK.

Business Success results in Sustainable Progress

As a result of Draintech’s continued success in providing specialist, high-quality drainage services to the Water Industry, the Company has recently invested an impressive £400,000 in additional land to further develop its Head Office.

The project is all part of Draintech’s green initiative to create an environmentally friendly workplace by constructing a recreational area for employees, set to be home to large scale planting, mature trees and an attenuation pond.

The scheme has primarily been advocated by the Managing Director for the Company, Glyn Gibson, whose passion for sustainable development has been the driving force behind the planned regeneration of the land:

“Our Environmental Policy remains the back bone to a number of sustainable policies we implement. Specifically as we are in association with SUDS, ‘Sustainable Drainage Systems’, this is a great opportunity for Draintech to not only be supportive of the implementation of sustainable drainage systems throughout Wales, but presents us with the opportunity to install and utilise these systems ourselves, as an exemplar to others” (Glyn Gibson, Managing Director – Draintech Surveys Ltd).

This development is also allowing Draintech to extend both staff and visitor car parking in order to manage the recent increase in workforce and vehicles owing to Draintech’s continued contract award achievements.

This innovative regeneration is no doubt a taste of what’s to come for the future of Draintech, combining ongoing business successes with increasing sustainable progress!
