TRAINING
All Draintech Services site personel are required to hold the mandatory minimum qualifications to NVQ Level II in "Safe Entry into Confined Spaces (with compressed air escape breathing apparatus)".

The endorsing body is "The City & Guilds of London Institute for Utility Operations Health Safety & Welfare". Uptraining is every 3 years.

Team Leaders & Rig Managers are additionally certified by CABWI in Unit ST203 that requires them to be competent in "Maintaining a Safe Waste Water Processing Environment".


CCTV OPERATIONS
CCTV Rig Managers are certified by the WTI in "OS19X Pipe Sewer Condition Classification".

CCTV Team Leaders hold the pipe coding classification and are also certified by WTI in "OS21X Brick Sewer Condition Classification".


SURVEYING & MAPPING OPERATIONS
All surveyors are educated to degree level in a survey related discipline as a minimum requirement.

The principle surveyor is an associate of the Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors and lectures in surveying at the University of Glamorgan.

Survey assistants have a minimum of 3 years experience in the field or are currently studying a survey related discipline at degree level.

Draftsmen are educated as a minimum requirement to BTEC HND level in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10 years experience in the industry.


EQUIPMENT


Cleaning:
Draintech Services operate a wide range of specialist cleaning equipment. Small trailer mounted high pressure jetting units with a delivery of 10 gallons / minute @ 4,000 psi are towed as an integral part of the site vehicles.

Medium and large volume tanker jetters and suction units are also available allowing Draintech Services to deal with blockages, desilting and overflows in sewer cleaning that range from 100 mm to 750 mm diameter.

Closed Circuit Television Camera (CCTV):
CCTV cameras are colour and can be adapted to survey not only sewers but also boreholds, shafts, ducts, GRP and steel pipes.

Camera heads have pan and rotate facility (camera head can move through 360 degrees) enabling more detailed information to be obtained.

Sonar surveys of surcharged sewer systems for sewers 450mm diameter and upwards.

CCTV rigs are motorised (except for 100 mm diameter pipes) enabling up to 300 m to be surveyed from a single access point.

On site reporting and coding facility. Engineers can view the survey whilst in progress from the site vehicle.

Reports are produced in accordance with the WRC / WAA Manual of Sewer Condition Classification 3rd Edition, Model Contract Document and are routinely validated and verified through our stringent quality management procedures.

Reports are via CCTV examiner and comprise of the following for each survey:

  • Colour VHS video/ CD ROM or DVD
  • Hard copy of report
  • Copy of report on disk
  • Digital or Hard copy photographs (as and when required)
